Parking

The Malvern Hills Trust car parks provide a starting point for many walks, cycles and adventures over the Hills and Commons. Monies received from car parking fees go directly towards nature conservation and management of the Hills to protect this special place for people and for wildlife.

Please be aware that Tank Quarry car park is currently closed.


Pay and display parking

  • Car parking on the Hills is available 7 days a week between the hours of 6am and 11pm* **. Overnight parking is prohibited.
  • The cost of pay and display parking is £5.50 per day valid on the day of issue and can be used in any of the MHT car parks throughout the purchase date.
  • An evening charge of £3.20 applies after 6pm in all car parks.  Valid across all car parks throughout the purchase date.
  • Please ensure your ticket is clearly displayed on the front windscreen of your vehicle.
  • Please note that tickets are not transferable.
  • Disabled badge holders can park free of charge.

Car park machines are only accepting card payments at this time. Machines in the following car parks accept cash or card: British Camp car park, North Quarry car park, Upper Beacon Road car park.

*Black Hill car park is open from 6am to 7pm.

Parking pass applications - Terms and Conditions

For those who contribute through the Levy on their Council Tax to the Malvern Hills Trust and for frequent visitors, concessionary passes and annual passes are available. 

To minimise delays with your application, please read our terms and conditions before applying to ensure you provide all the required information.


LEVY PAYERS' CAR PARKING PASSES

Residents within the town of Malvern and the parishes of Colwall, Guarlford, Malvern Wells, Mathon and West Malvern who pay the levy to the Trust on their Council Tax bill, can purchase a concessionary parking pass.

Levy payer passes are valid from 1st June 2023 to 31st May 2024.

HOW TO APPLY

The following items are required when making your application as proof of your eligibility for the concessionary pass:

  • Current Council Tax Bill or Driving Licence - as proof of applicant's address in the levy paying area.  Utility bills, pension or bank statements will not be accepted.

AND

  • V5C vehicle registration document - as proof that the vehicle is registered to the levy paying address.  This is required for every vehicle (up to 3 passes can be purchased per household).  If you do not have a V5C, for example for a Motability or lease hire vehicle, please contact the office on 01684 892002 or email parking@malvernhills.org.uk for assistance.

Passes valid from the 1st June 2023 to the 31st May 2024 can be purchased in the following ways:

  • By email - by completing the Levy payer pass application form 2023 (word doc) or Levy payer pass application form 2023 (PDF) and making payment by BACs. A copy of proof of your address (as detailed above) showing your eligibility should be emailed along with your completed application form to parking@malvernhills.org.uk
  • By post - by completing the Levy payer pass postal application form 2023 (PDF) and making payment by cheque or by BACs.  A copy of proof of your address (as detailed above) showing your eligibility should be posted along with your completed application form to Manor House, Grange Road, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 3EY.
  • In person - at Manor House, Grange Road, WR14 3EY (opposite Malvern Theatres). Office opening times are 9:00am to 1pm and 1:30pm to 3:30pm Tuesday to Friday (closed Mondays).  A proof of address is required. Please only use this option if the postal or email options are not available to you. 

Current passes cost £7.00 each and are valid until the 31st May 2024.  Please include a stamped addressed envelope with your application, or include an additional £1.00 for postage and administration.

Annual Parking Passes

Annual parking passes are available to anyone living outside the levy paying area who regularly visits the Malvern Hills.  Passes can be purchased in the following ways:

Passes cost £52.50 (£26.75 for a second vehicle at the same household) and are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.  Please include a stamped addressed envelope with your application, or include an additional £1.00 for postage and administration.

Replacement or lost passes

If you have bought a new vehicle or changed your vehicle registration a new Levy Payer pass or Annual pass can be purchased for £1.00 (administration charge) when the original pass is returned. 

You can either bring your current pass back to the office (Manor House, Grange Road, WR14 3EY) during our opening times (Tuesday to Friday 9am to 1pm and 1:30pm to 3.30pm) and your pass will be replaced over the counter for £1.00.  Or alternatively, you can post your pass back to the Trust offices enclosing a stamped addressed envelope, £1.00 administration fee and a note of your new registration number and we can post out an updated pass to you for the remainder of your parking period. Failure to include a stamped addressed envelope will result in an additional £1.00 postage fee.

The Trust accepts no responsibility for lost passes.  If you are unable to return your old pass, you will be charge full price for a new Levy Payer or Annual pass.


Parking Charges

Please be aware that failure to pay and display a valid ticket could result in a parking charge.  The standard parking charge is £40.00 (reduced to £20.00 if paid within 7 days of receipt).  Our car parks are regularly patrolled by our wardens every day except Christmas Day.


Coaches

Designated Coach Parking can be found at British Camp only.  The coach parking bays are subject to pay and display and coach drivers need to purchase three tickets (£15.75 per day) from the meter opposite.


Responsibility

The Malvern Hills Trust accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to vehicles parked in their car parks or the contents thereof.  Visitors are urged to ensure their vehicles are left secure and that no valuables are left in their vehicles.
