The Trust is forging ahead into the new year under the leadership of Helen Stace, who has stepped in as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Helen has known the Trust for 26 years, and was latterly CEO at Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, so brings a wealth of relevant experience and local knowledge. This appointment provides essential stability and support for the organisation, staff and trustees, during what could have been a difficult time without a CEO in place.
She will steady the ship until the arrival in early March of our new CEO, Deborah Fox, who leaves a senior position in Surrey County Council. Deborah is no newcomer to the Malvern hills as she has visited regularly over the last 15 years and lived in West Malvern during an appointment with the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Helen said "it is an honour to be able to support the Trust over the interim period and continue the good work of Duncan Bridges who left the Trust in December. Duncan joined the Trust in 2016 and has played a vital role in guiding our organisation in the conservation of this iconic landscape."
Deborah is looking forward to playing a strong role in this new era of the Trust's development. Deborah said " I look forward to meeting key people in the Trust's governance and wider sphere and bringing my skillsets to the area, including political management, and marketing and communications.
When the new CEO take up their role in March, Helen will provide a comprehensive handover to give them the best start in their role and ensure continuity within the organisation.
