Herefordshire County Council

I was brought up in Malvern after my parents moved here in 1960 and attribute my love of the outdoors and respect for nature to many hours spent walking on the Hills.  Although my working life has taken me to many places, I have been a regular visitor and I am very fortunate to have been living in Colwall since 2010.

The Malvern Hills are iconic and well-loved.  The Malvern Hills Trust has taken good care of them over many years, ensuring they can be enjoyed by increasing numbers of visitors whilst also protecting biodiversity and safeguarding precious ancient monuments.  Now the Trust is preparing a new Act of Parliament to bring in much needed governance reforms.

I spend my career in the public and charity sectors in roles including property management, HR, government affairs, policy communications and campaigning.  I also have boardroom experience, both as an executing and as a trustee.

I am delighted to have been appointed as a trustee.  As the Malvern Hills Trust moves into its next phase of development, it will be my privilege to help it to:

  • maintain clear strategic goals and use its resources to best effect;
  • modernise its governance processes; and
  • develop its programme of engagement.
