Nominations now open for the Priory Ward

Nominations are now open for those wishing to stand in the Priory Ward for election to the Board of the Malvern Hills Trust.

No nominations were received in October and the election is being rerun on the 7th December

The Trust is the charity that looks after the Hills and commons, which are protected under the Malvern Hills Acts, and its Board of trustees are responsible for managing the organisation.   Every four years eleven of the trustees are elected by the voters of Malvern, Guarlford, Colwall and Mathon.

Trustees are responsible for the strategic oversight of the charity, ensuring that it is meeting its statutory requirements and in caring for this iconic landscape is delivering the charity’s objects.  The Board meets at least five times a year, with most trustees also sitting on one of the four committees.   This is an opportunity for people to play a part in the future of the organisation caring for this iconic landscape.

Those eligible to stand for election must live or work or be registered to vote in one of the Malvern Hills Trust levy paying wards or parishes.

Candidate packs are now available online or in person from the Malvern Hills Trust offices (opposite Malvern Theatres) and from Malvern Hills District Council.  Nominations forms must be be received by Malvern Hills District Council by 4pm on Friday 10th November.

A briefing session for potential candidates is being held via Zoom at 6:30pm on Friday 3rd November.  More information about the election process and the role of trustees will be provided and interested persons are invited to contact the Trust by calling 01684 892002 or emailing info@malvernhills.org.uk.
