Easter activity - Build a besom broom!

Looking for a fun, family activity this Easter holiday? We're running a family-friendly workshop to build a traditional birch (besom) broom.  You will get to take your handmade broom home - perfect for spring cleaning or outdoor wizarding or witchy adventures!

When: Tuesday 11th April.  1st session 10am to 11.30am or 2nd session from 12noon to 1:30pm.

Where: Gardiner’s Quarry car park, Jubilee Drive, Malvern, WR13 6DN.

Who: Suitable for families and children aged 8+ years. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring: Please bring your own secateurs and gloves if you wish to use your own.  Gloves and tools will be provided. We’ll provide the birch and everything else you’ll need to make your birch broom to take home.

Booking: Please contact our office on reception@malvernhills.org.uk to book your place.  Let us know which session you’d like to join.  Spaces are limited so make sure you book in advance.

Cost: The event is free but to support our work, we ask for a small donation of £5 per broom which goes towards the conservation of the Malvern Hills and Commons.

The birch for your broom has been collected from Pinnacle Hill by our Conservation Volunteer team. The work to remove young birch is opening up important grassland habitats that are homes for ground nesting birds, flora and fungi.  Ask us more about our conservation work and volunteering at the workshop.
