Positive turnout for Trust by-election

The Trust are pleased to welcome a new trustee has joined the board of the Malvern Hills Trust following a by-election in May.

Mary Turner was voted onto the Board on the 5th May after standing for election in the Chase Ward.

The voting turnout was higher than for many previous Trust by-elections with 20.8% of those registered casting their vote.

The Trust is the charity that looks after the Hills and Commons and is governed by the Malvern Hills Acts.  The Board of trustees is the body which is legally responsible for managing the Trust, with eleven of its trustees elected by the voters from wards in Malvern and the parishes of Guarlford, Colwall and Mathon.

The trustees are responsible for the strategic oversight of the charity, ensuring that it is meeting its statutory and charitable objectives.
