Litter Pick Success

A morning's litter pick was a huge success after a team of volunteers joined the Malvern Hills Trust to clean up Malvern's green spaces.

On what turned out to be a beautiful spring day, 26 keen litter pickers collected 23 bags of litter from the verges around Sherrard's Green and Madresfield Road.  A set of golf clubs was one of the more interesting items collected on the day, as well as a children's scooter, bicycle wheel and a car tyre.

The volunteers' efforts were rewarded by tea and refreshments kindly supplied by St Mary's Church Pickersleigh who supported the event.

Beck Baker, Community and Conservation Officer said 'We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who came out and helped us.  We have been running this event for the last 4 years but this was the best attendance so far and so we managed to tidy up a huge area in record time!'

The litter pick was organised by the Malvern Hills Trust as part of the Keep Britain Tidy - Great British Spring Clean campaign which takes place each year.  This event was one of a number of events run by local charities and organisations to help tidy up Malvern and surrounding areas.
