Thank you to our Volunteers

This week is Volunteers' Week and we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who support us.

A wide range of tasks are carried out by almost 100 Malvern Hills Trust volunteers who help to keep this landscape special for people and wildlife.

Beck Baker, Community and Conservation Officer said, ‘Volunteers’ Week is a great opportunity for us to bring attention to the amazing volunteers who give up their time to help care for this iconic landscape.’

‘The difference they make in caring for the Hills and Commons is enormous and we would certainly notice if our volunteers were no longer with us.’

‘We are grateful for any time volunteers can offer, from those who join us once a week or those who volunteer with us just once, it all adds up.’

How can volunteers help support the Malvern Hills Trust?

A regular team of dedicated practical volunteers spend time on the Hills and Commons in all weathers to conserve the habitats of the Malvern Hills supporting species including adders, butterflies and rare plants.

Access is incredibly important to people who visit this landscape and volunteers help to survey paths and clean stone way markers for visitors and the local community.

Volunteers also help within the office as archivists, sorting through and filing the large collection of documents and images that have been collected over the years.

The Trustees of the Malvern Hills Trust who guide the work of the charity are also volunteers and take great care to make appropriate decisions relating to the organisation’s Acts and charitable objects.

We would also like to thank the volunteers from other groups and organisations including Butterfly Conservation Trust, Earth Heritage Trust, Malvern Hang Gliding Club, local scout groups, mountain bikers and joggers who are helping to keep this place special for future generations.
