I have lived in the Malvern area since completing my PhD in solid state physics at Exeter University in 1978. I greatly enjoy walking on the Malvern Hills and Commons and make use of its open space on most days. Once I had retired from work in the Spring of 2015,  I joined the MHT conservation volunteers and have been a regular attendee at the Friday and Saturday sessions ever since. I am also volunteer Ranger with the National Trust at Brockhampton Estate (Herefordshire countryside).

I became one of the elected representatives for the Colwall parish in the November 2015 trustee elections and was re-elected in the MHT 2019 elections. As a Board member, I have taken an active role in formulating the strategic direction of the MHT with a particular interest in achieving a balance between open access for all, maintenance  of the landscape  and wildlife conservation. I have been Chair of the Land Management Committee for the past year, was Vice-Chair before that, and am a member of the Working group tasked with taking forward the desired changes to the Governance arrangements for the MHT.

I bring technical skills in strategic planning, direction and execution,  project organisation, planning and management,  financial management and modern computing / Information technology as well as “hands-on” landscape conservation.
