Bluebells are blooming on the Hills and the Malvern Hills Trust are asking people to take extra care and stick to the main paths when visiting.
Each year along Jubilee Drive, the slopes are awash with purple as spring arrives on the Malvern Hills and the displays attract many visitors and photographers. However, some of the flowers are being damaged by people who come to see them.
Beck Baker, Community and Conservation Officer said, “The bluebell displays, particularly along Jubilee Drive, are wonderful and it’s fantastic that people come to admire them. But we ask that people stick to the paths and don’t walk, sit or lie amongst the flowers.
Please don’t spoil it for others and help us to protect the display so that it is special for those who may visit after you.”
Native English bluebells are a protected species and must not be picked or damaged and visitors should stay to the paths to help conserve them.
There is limited parking near to the Jubilee Drive display and visitors should park at Black Hill car park and take the short walk (450 metres) along the side of the Hill to reach the bluebells. Please don't park on the road as it restricts access for local residents.
